    Default TOH goes Ecfor

I was torn between "Introduce Yourself" and "DQ Talk" but eventually the latter seemed more suitable.

My username has been TheOnlyHorse on this site for many years but I recently had it changed to Ecfor. I thought of changing the username as early as 2012 but simply didn't bother asking and neither did I have any major reason to change it, so TOH kinda stuck.

TOH was closely related to my past hobby as a horse caretaker and show jumper but the end of high school totally killed that interest (That was almost 10 years ago... Woah time flies past). I'm actually more of a computer technician, forest hiker and digital artist. My interest for tech quickly earned me a job as soon as I finished my studies about 4 years ago. I would've never achieved a job opportunity that fast if horses were my main passion. That career choice is difficult and expensive ><

So yeah everything's pretty much the same. I'll be here as usual, occasionally replying to threads/posts and make sure to include a few grammatical mistakes. I did travel to the UK this summer but there wasn't enough time to improve my language skills. But I must say "sleeping policemen" is the best name for road bumpers. Why haven't we brought that to Sweden and Finland yet? I must take on this holy mission.

Anyway. Considering I haven't made a new thread in ages I may as well mention that my PM inbox is always open for Castle ideas/suggestions, we've got a Funny Castle Pics thread after all. I still draw lots of stickman-related stuff despite the age of Castle, like, seriously take a look at this:

    Spoiler for not enough:

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Ecfor means something like "To Speak" in Latin, if you wonder where I got it from.

I guess that's about it See you in da forums!

I'm kinda surprised it was that easy for your interest in horses to die like that. It tends to be hard for people when they work with the animals long enough to realize how intelligent and loving they can actually be. Maybe it wasn't a main focus of your life, but do you at least still visit stables now and again? I adore the more intelligent members of the mammals on this planet. They have a pure and soulful quality to them that you can only understand when you lock eyes with one. Wolves are fantastically insightful as well. I swear my baby can pretty much read my mind at this point.

I don't know about the expectations in your region but over here you're expected to educate yourself at least 3-8 years extra when you finish high school at the age of 15/16. And you gotta get that driving license on your 18th birthday, and a job, and a house or apartment. Neither should you have any mental problems or addictions because everyone will know how weak you are.

Expectations like these will kill expensive hobbies and bring you back to reality. It's basically adapt or perish (unless you're born fabulously rich, which I'm not). You strive to create a stable situation and refrain from camping in your parents basement while leeching their money. It's quite an interesting yet wealthy little island I live on... Nothing for those who want anonymity and cheap prices.

going to spend time with horses once or twice a week is expensive and shows you're weak? I'm not following.

Well I will be forever be Dash because it's my main nickname, but some people like to call me Hardrock, Moony and Chu from games and other forums.
And looking on your Castle map makes me so embarrassed. I have hardly nothing, expect I did a Castle 4 fanart last year. Rest are from the golden years of DQ.
(Psst, I will still call you TOH because <3)

I'm not following either, probably because you misread my reply and made up your own interpretation. Considering you mentioned the word "weak" it seems you associated "addiction" with normal hobbies instead of drugs/alcohol.

Why would football, tennis, racing or animals make you weak? I have no idea. Are the hobbies expensive? Plausibly.

Sure. Personally, I'm sticking with Polo (and variations upon it). I'll stick with my real name in personal correspondence. Also, which places did you visit while you were in the UK?

Horses are a completely different kind of pet than most. I'd go as far as to say, unless you have barnyard animals, they're in their own category altogether. A lot of people lose interest in pets, from small rodents, birds and - believe it or not, there's a business for this - even dogs, but horses require so much time, effort and money to look after, it's more or less like a job you have to pay for. My mother has several horses, and the amount of stuff they have to deal with (moving to different parts of the country just for space, building stables and pens out of pocket, insurance costs, vet fees, etc. etc.) really makes me admire their dedication. It isn't something I think most people would manage, let alone have time for at all. It doesn't surprise me at all that someone could outgrow that kind of commitment, especially if you were young when you started.

Landed in Manchester and got picked up by a friend who didn't live too far away. We spent that week visiting Chester, Wrexham, Liverpool and some small towns. I somehow ended up on a buss that passed "Mold" and "Saltney", giving me some good lols

For some reason it took a few seconds before my brain to realize that it was Swedish (referring to your spoiler-pic). I'll probably stick with DeeTox as my nick here to the end of times ^^

I'm CyberpunkPie, but lately I'm not on Steam so much because Overwatch has been literally the only game I've been playing for the last 4 months.

I'm Finno-Swedish, but without the iconic moomin-speech sadly 8D Dunno where it went during my childhood, I'm way better at ripping off various Swedish dialects whenever the situation requires.

I've got some Russian deetox tea in my kitchen cabinet. So that's where you've been hiding all these years...

I'm EternityBlue, though the only game I've been able to afford in the midst of college lately is Ori and the Blind Forest.

Wat!? The only person I met irl from Åland had a noticeable finno-swedish dialect, I thought it was the normal thing over there?

Lots of Finno-Swedes move to the islands because main Finland is f'cking around with language rights so bad atm. They're cutting down on swedish service although laws clearly state they are not allowed to.

Maybe you encountered a person who moved from the mainland to the islands? The longer they've lived in Finland the heavier the dialect Adults don't seem to adapt very well but kids change completely or switch the majority of the words.

I think born and raised around Mariehamn. It wasn't an extreme dialect, just lightly "there" if you thought of it.

Correct me if wrong (I've never heard how you speak) but I'm just thinking, is it possible you have a small dialect you yourself don't think is apparent, but others might be able to tell?
