Not really good at naming threads, but anyhow...about two weeks ago we had our final assignment in a course called "Music, Theory and practice"...roughly translated. The assignment was to compose music to a clip from a movie called "Hotel". The clip had no sound or music, so we had to add everything ourselves.
During our Christmas Holiday we were to write down our music onto a note sheet, and then have a string quartet perform our musical piece in the schools studio, where we recorded it all and then added it to the movie. We had 20m to introduce ourselves to the quartet, hand out the papers and instruct them to how they were supposed to play our music. Those 20 minutes went by pretty fast, so we didn't really get a top quality recording, but since we only had 20 minutes we had to make the best of it.
Anyway, here's the result. The piece is composed by me and two classmates. The story is that a king is locked inside his castle, and is very, very troubled by this. But as the time passes he begins to brighten up, and become more optimistic.
Note that the story is the story behind the musical piece, not the movie itself.
Now, here's the result. I'm really tired, so if something sounds really weird in my writing...I'll fix it later on! Enjoy
