    Default Dear Esther

    Dear Esther

A deserted island…a lost man…memories of a fatal crash…a book written by a dying explorer.

Dear Esther was originally a mod (that I personally enjoyed, and you shoud try out) that used the Source engine to create one of the most beautiful gaming experiences ever. It generated an environment, that you became completely immersed in. The music and the voice of the narrator kept you in that world and pushed you forward to discover the secret present in that deserted land. Now it comes with splendid graphics, fixed bugs and added characteristics such as every playthrough being different. I personally recommend this "game" to all of you, and I'll be making a review of the full game that will come out February 14th.
    Enjoy.

Never heard of this before, but judging from all the reactions, I'd suppose that this is definately worth checking out. Looks really awesome.

If I feel like it, I could easily enough go and see the guy who created this (Dan Pinchbeck) and wish him luck. He teaches at my university.

Not sure if I will though -- might be creepy.

Well, judging from the scale of this (Coverage by famous media), you couldn't be the only one thinking of going to do such a thing.

Please wish him luck on my behalf (Carlos João Santos), and if you will, ask him if is interested in having Portuguese(Portugal) subtitles.
    If anything, congratulate him, please!

This reminds me a lot of Myst, which was a kickass game. Hopefully it lives up to that game.

Hey dude! Go fucking do that or I will smack you a few!

I can't believe this released/close to being released (haven't really checked yet) but I remember when I found it like years ago, in 09 I think, I was really really interested to see what this was.

I just remember it as being a mod back then? I dunno, but I want it!

This was originally a mod created back in '08 for HL2, but they remade with better graphics and improved engine TODAY!
