Looks like the off-topic topic thread just became the next Bordem Nexus.

@Shadowtime: Nice. Pony songs or any song?

Pony songs, you'll find on youtube.

But speaking of youtube, it's funny how much I go into epic videos that have epic music, funny yet disturbing scenes where piranhas are eating a mouse, video about gay republicans, people communicating with wild animals and making edited stupid videos that used the same reusable so called 'epic music.' And guess what? All the comments turn into arguments about poverty, famine, people being sick, wishing death of others who made an animal eating animal video, stupid random discussion of god, conspiracy theories, random stupid arguments that go off topic, and why this or that is wrong.

    ... I need a fucking drink.
I am filled with disgust, this film is a bust!

Well that lasted longer than I thought it would, but I think it's time I ended this now. I will confess, this wasn't just a stupid social game, but also a small test on how well you could read and stick to very simple rules without perpetual guidance, or more specifically how long you could do this as I knew this thread would eventually, inevitably fail.

Every post in this thread has to steer the conversation away from its previous direction in the last post. Yeah, it's kind of like Boredom Nexus except you can't be completely random, it has to be related in some way and try to keep the really short posts to a minimum.
Not only did you eventually start to comment on each other's posts without intent of derailing each other, but you also completely forgot to relate any of your random bullshit to anything previously spoken about, instead just hopping on the mega thread bandwagon hoping that this would just be the new hub for social loitering after the previous mega threads were deleted.

Sorry to disappoint, I can tell you were all very excited.

Some of you actually tried, which is commendable, but eventually your genes take over and you start to behave like a pack of shrieking monkeys. Credit to Rockonman who actually took an active role in trying to maintain the status quo until questioned where upon he immediately took up arms by discarding the rules of conduct entirely like a librarian violently and loudly shushing people who whisper; completely missing the point.

Don't be alarmed if you're confused, that just shows you're not as smart as I am which is how the world should be, so take solace in the natural order of things. If - by some happenstance - you find this upsetting then please remember this is for science and sacrifices must be made.

Mistake on my part, but since this was never really a game for you monkeys, rather a game for me to observe, I didn't figure it entirely relevant so I decided not to move it. But you're otherwise absolutely right, threads like these should be in the Entertainment forums.

If you hadn't already figured it out yet, here's the summary.

Tldr; This thread failed as I knew it would so I'm pulling the plug and I'm calling you monkeys because why not?

You're all free to discuss my completely uncharacterised 180 heel turn and be shocked and baffled by the plot twist.

Sooooo does that mean you're going to lock this thread soon or are you going to continue allowing your 'lab monkeys' run amok?

I wanted to see your reactions, and they did not disappoint. But rest assured that I will lock this thread eventually, when it's funny. But for now, please go ahead and make believe that this will be another boredom nexus, break the specified posting conditions, arms flailing in glee and I'll continue to watch you and chuckle.

What is interesting is that I find comments like Vic's both amusing and deeply insulting.
What is also interesting is that I find that Putin is like a single-core processor - if he doesn't do a thing, nobody will.
Also interesting: I may or may not be talking out of my ass now, but the rules can be subverted in a dull, but practical way, to the subject of facebooky-personal-news loitering.

Damn guys, have you ever read Cody McFadyen's books? I never got that feeling back like when I first read one, but I've gotten close.
    Spoiler for story:

The first book I read of him is called "Shadow Man" and I was 15. That was the scariest thing in my life. Never have I experienced fear so pure. There's been some times in my life when I cried, felt terrible, scared, before someone would hit me or I would fall... But those were all mixed feelings, and my body never failed me.
When I read Shadow Man, it did. I was sitting in a room, holding the book in my hands. The book was everything that mattered. I couldn't stop reading. As I read, my psyche was being pushed and shoved to an edge of pure darkness, and I was helpless. My mind was being held by the troat, dangling over the infinite blackness. The feelings of helplessness and fear were incredible.
But then I came back to the real world, at least a little. Because something changed. I didn't look, I kept on reading, but I sensed it.
My body quit on me. Slowly, all my energy was draining. My arms coudn't hold the book anymore. They slowly sank onto my lap, and my head rested on my chest. The position I was sitting in was uncomfortable, but that didn't matter. My eyes kept on reading.
Some pages later, the chapter ended. I started the next one, but I just couldn't memorize it. My eyes saw the text, but my brain didn't recognise it. I managed to lay down.
Later, I woke up. The first thing I did was lay the book away. I continued living, but my mind was with the book. I couldn't focus on anything.
A week or so later, I decided to finish the book. And I finished it. It wasn't so bad from there on. In comparison, anyway.
For 2 months after I've finished it, I never spoke about it. I kept it in my bookshelf, and never touched it.
I had nightmares, of me doing terrible things to people. Sometimes, people I loved. The most terrible part, though, was that I enjoyed it. I loved it, and I was there. I understood completely what I was doing. And it felt godlike.
I've seen, done and learned much more since then. Never have I experienced fear like that again.

In 4 nights, I finished his latest book, "Abandoned". I haven't read his other book though, not linked with the Somky Barett series. On to that!

Anybody know of other good writers like him?

Yea, I find that weird as well.

A book I'm reading right now that's pretty good is Christopher Tolkien's "Unfinished Tales." If you liked The Silmarilion, then I'd suggest reading that.
