Default What am I doing wrong?

I've followed (almost) everyone's advice, advertised everywhere, submitted it to Google, Bing and Yahoo, and told friends and family about it, and still out of 20+ members only 2 or 3 get on monthly. What am I doing wrong?

Here is some advice for you from a website owner:
1.) Get a full domain if you can afford it. What I mean is that when a person wants to go onto a forum, they first look at the name and URL. Yours is nuttyforums.webs.com, this means that the site technically belongs to webs.com, not you. Also, it limits the amount of things that you can do with said website. As I have several domains, I can tell you that people who use sites like webs only get a TINY taste of running a website.

2.) Get a purpose. By this I mean you need to have a solid foundation for the subject of your forum, aside from RPGs and "nutty stories". Example is Oscar here has woven a community of talented individuals in the art and animation community by showing off his own animations and sketches, and welcoming people to show off their own creations. A great way to gain a community is to start a comic, animation series or business, and create a message board based around things related to your site. Of course, I personally dislike forums, due to the maintenance required for them to keep everything smooth.

3.) Get to be well known before you advertise your site. This should be pretty obvious, as most people won't go onto a forum advertised by some random guy with only 15 posts who rarely logs on. Like I got drawn to Deletion quality because of Oscars job with Aleksander Vinters music video.

4.) Build a community. This is the golden rule of running a website, you HAVE to make sure that there will be a nice amount of people who will go on it weekly or even daily. Your forum has sections that haven't been touched in 9 months.

5.) unfuck your forum. Just straight up saying it, it needs to be well organized, and yours so far is the exact opposite. An example of how a forum should be organized is this. It is well organized, with similar forums grouped together.

Another thing is I would suggest to add onto Ivyns list is not even trying to make a website until your sure that at least 4-6 people would be interested in joining. Empty sites do not attract people.
Man rule 48. Any dispute lasting any longer than 3 minutes must be settled by rock, paper, scissors.

If you're gonna have a forum make sure you've got a few friends you can trust to be mods or admins in case the community unexpectedly grows. But yeah, making a forum without being sure there's a community is like building an apartment complex with no interested renters. It just gets to sit there until it eventually falls apart.

Another suggestion to go along with Ivyn's is to have an uncluttered forum. If it is hard to find your way around the forum, then people are going to leave.
