Inception probably should have gotten more.

I only saw Inception. I think it deserves it's place there though.

I need to have watched more of these movies before I can make an informed decision regarding my picks for most of these catagories.

Edit: Toy Story 3 is definitely my pick for "Best Animated Film".

About that, do the winners in that category get nominated for how to the good film is, or because of how good its animation is?

They get nominated for how good the film is, though the quality of the animation is a factor as well.

They get nominated on how kosher it is.
"To tell us that every species of thing is endowed with an occult specific quality by which it acts and produces manifest effects, is to tell us nothing; but to derive two or three general principles of motion from phenomena, and afterwards to tell us how the properties and actions of all corporeal things follow from those manifest principles, would be a very great step." -Issac Newton, Optics

I can't believe "How To Train Your Dragon" is nominated. The movie is soulless, witless, predictable and quite desperate. I would go as far as to call it average, but certainly not worthy a mention as the best animated film. Toy Story 3 kicked the shit out of How To Train Your Dragon.

Well, not only Disney/Pixar needs awards, so they included Dreamworks for an illusion of competition.
They haven't done good films in... ever.
