    EA, those rascals.
Yes, I already saw that a while ago and didn't really want to bring it up. But now that's it's here I'll say my thoughts about it.

Didn't like this way of advertising. At all. It's not funny, and it's as if the developers are ACTIVELY trying to bring up controversy about the game. Elements like those in Dead Space, like gore, were already in the gray areas of these sort of thing when it comes to controversy in video games, but this really just brings it out.

I agree, I can tell from by the enemies of the Pack and the Crawler in Dead Space 2 that they just want to cause controversy. I think their idea is that, if people here things as overblown as 'it being a weapon to change minds' people'll buy it just to see how sick it is.

I thought that was quite a good piece of advertising personally.

No, I don't think the enemies was the thing. There wasn't anything too controversial about the enemies to begin with, at least by today's standards. Just your basic twisted alien/zombie enemies. To tell the truth, there's nothing actually WAY over-the-top that I can see in Dead Space that could acheive the level of sick I think you're talking about.

What bothered me was that they would take out the fact that some people were more conservitive, and wouldn't be able to accept it, and put it right there in the open.

But still who knows? It could also be a mixture of saying "In ya face!" to the conservitive community, and a harmless joke. It has potential to be amusing true, but still I'd think it'd be easier on the developers and everyone if they just didn't go there.

Finished it, and Im so glad that Kreek got me into this now. Great game, and that last sequence was so well done with the credits .
Spoiler for Things about the game:
I just, REALLY hope that that maniacal look at the end from Isaac to Ellie, was that he realised something, and not that he went mad and wanted to kill her. I couldn't tell from his face whether he'd gone mad or if he'd remembered something horrible. I felt heartbroken at first when I thought she got killed. Probably because she's the first girl in the game that didn't wasn't using Issac to her own ends .

EDIT: HardCore mode. Shit. 3 save points only, and every time you die it only takes you to your last save.

First playthrough took me 8 hours and 21 minutes on Zealot difficulty. Man was that crazy, gonna try Hardcore mode sometime soon.

    Spoiler for Dead Space 2:
Also, INTY, I don't know for sure but I think that was a reference to Dead Space 1. At the end of that game Issac is sitting in a shuttle and he looks to his right to see the creepy Marker Nicole sitting there who attacks him. My guess would be that now he's got a friend there instead to show the change of situation he's gone through.

I played the demo on psn last night. I had my surround sound speakers on, and it was freaking scary! O_O
But it was awesome scary! . I think i'm gonna buy the game once I get enough money maybe a month or two from now i'll buy it. My fav part of the demo was when I was in the elevator and I thought the necromorph thingy was gonna come through the door so I had my gun trained on the door. But then it came through the top part of the elevator and I was like "oh shit!". I started laughing after that XD.

Yea, I would buy this game if I had the system and the money to get the game.

Actually in my opinion, I think that the reference to Dead Space 1 is pretty damn obvious.

Also I beat the game last night, thought it was pretty awesome. My excitement peaked when you had to enter the Ishimura, and you got to see all the olda layout.

The entire game was great, except, EXCEPT for the ending, to me it felt somewhat lackluster, at least when compared with the rest of the game.

From what I've heard, Dead Space 2 is more like Dead Space 1.5, the plasma cutter is still the most used weapon and it's pretty much the same type of environment as the first one all the way through.

    This got me interested though:

    Spoiler for interesting stuff:
I read about this part where you enter this big hall, it's pitch black and everything, and eventually you get rushed by Pack necromorphs. Only moments later when you proceed you see a female necromorph holding a dead Pack necromorph and crying and stuff. That's how I THINK it went down. sounds kinda interesting to see, dunnit?

PS. could anyone who buys the game PM me if that part in the spoiler actually happens? Thanks.

Nah, I'd still say Dead Space 2 has much more diverse environments when compared with the first game, and much more differences. Also there are loads of other weapons which can serve a nice alternative to the Plasma Cutter, but it's still a decent weapon to use overall.

Don't remember anything of the sort that fits the description "completely" as you say it. Where did you read about this?

In the Swedish PC Gamer, although it wasn't exactly fresh in my memory when I wrote it. As it turns out that Pack was in fact a Crawler that exploded and took its "mom" with it, splattering the window that Isaac is looking through with blood, at least that's what INTY said in his PM.

Reminder: I haven't played this game at all so these are just things I've heard or read. Don't hurt me.

Oh yeah, I remember that part =)

And don't worry, we won't begrudge you for not knowing things in the game. Just don't mix up explaining with flaming.

    Fuuuu
Spoiler for where I am in game:
At the bit just before the eye Poke Machine on Zealot. Saving it there because I'm at my dad's house tomorrow, and he hates anything to do with eyes >:3. I'm struggling a little bit, but I think I'll do it in the end. How ever if I'm struggling now I'm scared of what Hard Core'll do to me there.
Well actually Hard Core in itself scares me :S. Mainly because the enemy spawns are different. The best way to go through Dead Space 2 Hard Core is still the same from in 1 right? Plasma Cutter and Force gun only? That's how I finished Impossible
