I decided that in order to improve thread content for all our wonderful artists here at DQ, I would need to make a thread for everyone.

So what do you do here?
You post your WIPs (Work in progress), sketches, demos, storyboards... Basically anything within the borders of art in any shape and form. This means you have a chance of getting your work criticised before finishing it so you can make it even more awesome.

What's the goal?
The goal is to improve your work. The goal is to learn how to listen to criticism and use it to get your message across in a way that will not only make you proud but also make you feel you have exceeded what you you thought was the top of your talent.

But we already have our art threads!
People who want to help now only need to look out for one thread instead of travelling from place to place. It also means you can view your art thread as a place for your best work rather than a mess of everything from sketches to finished pieces.

This thread is going to be a huge change for every artist here at DQ who wants to improve. However, it only works if you want to make it work so please contribute, contribute, contribute.

- Oh, and all of you criticisers out there, this is going to be one hell of an opportunity to shape the artists here. I give you power, now use it wisely.
This thread will be moderated strictly by yours truly so if anyone harass or troll this place you will have your posts removed and you will receive a 20-point warning.

I would rather recieve constructive critism about my music from DQ'ers than NewGrounders, way too many trolls and fanboys on NG.

DQ members have really helped me a lot with improving my music.

Her pose is a bit awkward. It seems like her spine is curved wrongly because her neck and shoulders suggests she's slumping forward while the torso is in an upright posture.

Edit: lolninja - yeah but that's something I can iron out once I've got the technique down. I'm more worried about the style than substabce right now, but thanks.

Hm...I tried to sketch some creepy monsters. I need opinion if they're not generic and...well...scary

Well, the demon up top isn't so much, creepy as cool to me. The other three...oh yeah, they're pretty creepy. Especially Mr. 'takingthatsayinglet'sturnthatfrownupsidedowntoofa r' over there at the bottom.

I think you need to learn how to crawl before you walk. My best tip for you is learning the art of patience. This piece clearly indicates you're rushing through it in order to get a result. Next up, look at face in different sets of light. You only have a very basic understanding of how light works when it hits an object and you need to work on that. Furthermore I'd recommend you start out with pencil and paper. It's much easier to control, unless you're trying to master a tablet at the moment.

@ Aval: Now that I see these on a bigger scale I think you should go for the lower one. Looks cleaner and calmer.

EDIT: This is just me screwing around in GIMP, the random white dots everywhere are from the selection tool not selecting everything.
