View Full Version : Greatest Castle Moments

I was trawling through thew many castle related threads, as you do and i could'nt help but notice there was something missing. For some reason no-one had thought to create a "Greatest Moments" thread. I am therefore rectifying that wrong. In this thread you can post your thoughts on a greatest castle moment.
I'll start... I think the greatest Castle moment is in Repercussions Part D2 when Boomer and the other guy (I think he is a Private) are trying to outrun the black mist. This is great because the music is very tense and gives a sense of urgency. This then leads on to the climax of D2 with the escape in the chopper. Again the music adds a great amount of depth to the scene.
Anyway enough of my rambling, I'm sure your ideas are better.
Note:- I was in a hurry to get this down so I used one of the only scenes I could think of at the time, so don't be put off by the fact I chose one of the final scenes in the final part of Repercussions. Which ironically is the latest edition to the Castle series.
...I'm not telling you!

It is rather funny, although I like his comment on Boomers ability to throw a man across a gaping chasm. I quote: "What kind of drugs are you on Boomer?"

My absolute favourite is the Mullins knife rampage. It has the certain feel of physicness, clausthrophobia and adrenaline, although the scene is pretty simple.

If I may contribute...
Probably the one scene where Plisskin looks out at the courtyard realising he's all by himself. I love Aleksander's music in that scene.

Yeah, I think that music really fit the situation. My favorite part, however, is the part from when Jason dies to when Plisskin kicks the Evil to death. That part really captures the uncertainty and fear Plisskin must feel in that situation. I especially love when the Evil pushes open the door with superhuman ease; I like the sound the door makes when it opens.

I like Boomer's monolouge better:P
But if I had to pick I'd say Castle 3 is better. Castle 3 had more of a plot and everything plus in my opinion the ending scene AKA Castle 3 Part D, was far more grandeour than that of Repercussions.

My two favorite parts are when in Repercussions part B, Plisskin is kicking the Evil in the face, yelling "Get away, you FUCK!"
My other one is when Etrius says "Shut up." and the soldier blows apart.
The music in both of these scenes are great and perfect for the situation.

When Mullins was talking about the general because he was right.
Castle 1 and 2 were good ^_^ I like Castle 2 more though.
I always love it when the invisible arms come out in Castle III. I don't know why.
I liked all of the one with Ray. The part with Lloyd was nice. It was weird, but that's why I like it... and that it had Lloyd. Lloyd is awesome. It probably wasn't the real one, but it still looked like him and had a sword. =D
When Boomer blows up stuff. =D
When Beecher was jumping on the evils' heads.
When Boomer and those soldiers were with those things with red eyes. Were they zombies?
When they were escaping from the dark stuff and the dragon. Dragons are cool.
Dr. Romanov trying to get people out of the castle because he was right.
I like that they got out of the castle. Especially Boomer. He can still blow up things. =D
I feel bad for Lloyd though. He was cool. Etrius got shot, but we'll find out what happens to him.

When Beecher sniped the evil attacking the soldier, it shows a true feeling of Beecher's power. Also, when you saw the 3D (thanks, Oscar) altar, moving higher and higher, then you see that Etrius is gone. The strange sound gave you a feel of the intense plot about to take place in Castle IV. The credits immediately afterwards was the PERFECT time to plan that ending. It gave a feel of mysteriousness.

I love the part when Mullins, Ray, and Plisskin meet each other. I find it funny how that's like the first smile in the movie XD asides from Boomers crazy one...
On the topic of Boomer i was surprised when he actually talked really smartly. It was surprising to here the explosive expert talk really deeply. The typical explosives guy is usually "Kaboom.... hehe" so I liked that part.

When Beecher sniped the evil attacking the soldier, it shows a true feeling of Beecher's power.
I would like that scene more, except for the fact that it's a little confusing. Beecher shoots to the left of the screen, but the zombie is seen flying to the right. The different angles make it a little confusing, and my bewilderment usually averts my attention from the awesomeness. A better example of Beecher's awesomeness, in my opinion, is when he jumps in the air and shoots the evil, then there's the super-super-slo-mo shot of the evil's head being blown in half.

The entire scene with Roberts, Boomer and Mullins running away from the invisible arms, up until when they pull Roberts through the wall. I think it really shows off the difference between Mullins when he's alone and when he's with a group. He's far more pessimistic with the others, but very tough and optimistic on his own.
It also shows off Boomer's care for the soldiers lives, seeing as he actually waits for Roberts, whereas Mullins just runs as far as he can before he's cut off, and only returns to the group when he needs backup.
"Ahh, we're trapped, do something about those freaks" ~ My favourite line, sums up Mullins for me.

Hilarious, the funny part being that they are totally serious. Another favourite scene of mine that no-ne has mentioned yet is in the escape in Castle 3 Part C. Before Boomer and the others fall off the bridge, Boomer throws an evil right off the bridge and breaks another one neck. It demonstrates his sheer strength. There are other examples of this in Repercussions- Boomer dominates Parts C to D2 as he is the main focus. You get an insight into what else drives him- other than blowing stuff up.

I dont think wether Castle 3 or Castle Rep is better. Theyre both nessecary to get the whole Series, and i think thats important for a good movie. But to best honest, I still like two parts of the series best:
-Castle 3 Part D, when they run for their lives. The music and atmosphere are just great.
-Castle Repercussions Part D2, when the dragon appears (or the giant snake, whatever), because I simply love dragons. I wanted so see another one after etrius' flashback in Castle 3 Part A.
ArtoriusVonKrieg
September 2nd, 2009, 10:32 AM
The dragon is quite cool. Maybe with all the demand for the dragon to appear again Oscar will redux Castle 1 or include the dragonin castle 4.
Another great scene is inn Castle 3 part c when they are in the room with the artifact and the evils start the attack. The music suits it perfectly as it is very fast paced and heavy. Oh and Lloyd gets his sword out.
Vracer

Oh, the Lloyd sword swinging scene in Castle III Part C is amazing.
It shows how powerful, quick and deadly Lloyd is with, what some would call, an obsolete weapon.

Has anyone scene the film 300? Do you think Oscar based this scene (in Repercussions part C) on that part in 300 where the spartans drive the persians off the cliff. Its just a thought, they do look similar even if the storyline and focus off the scene is different

I liked the moments when Mullins cursed the General and when he kept complaining that he needed a cigarette even seconds after getting shot. Also when he said that it wasn't the worst day he's had.
"If I'd known he'd put me through this, I'd put a bullet in his head at first chance."
" That piece of shit"
" I need a cigarette"

I have a couple of favorite parts in the series.
1) When Etrius is brought in in handcuffs and he tells the General that he can "break these things as easily as his neck"
2) When Etrius picks up the orb and gets the psychic power.
3) When the General shoots Etrius (not because Etrius died, but because I knew he was going to sooner or later and the look on his face when he picks up the orb and has his "shifty eyes" moment)
4) In Castle Repercussions A when the Private thinks he's run into Loyd. (What really happened to him, anyway?)
5) At the very end, when all the credits are done and overwith, it goes back to where Etrius was shot and HE'S NOT THERE! *gasp!*
Lol, I knew they wouldn't end the story without going back to see what became of Etrius! If you haven't noticed, he's my favorite character...lol. You have to admit, for a 45-year-old, he kicks ass!

Favorite part? oh man... that's a very difficult one. I had several favorites.
1: In castle II, when Etrius first comes within contact of the Evil, and opens fire with the dual Uzis.
2: Also in castle II, the part where it shows Etrius running up the stairs with the sword, and the bodies of the Evil just fall and slip off the sides.
3: The beginning of the action scene in Castle III C. I don't understand why, but seeing that soldier kick down the Evil and shoot it over and over... very addicting to watch.
4: Castle III C again, Beecher, when he snipes the Evil in the head, and it pauses in time to show the action, before he goes jumping off their heads down the stairs.
5: In Castle Repercussions C, when Mullins has the action montage, just before he jumps off the cliff. I really enjoyed the animation of the Evil running along the walls at high speed with bullets trailing after them.
6: The very end of Castle Repercussions D2, with the remaining soldiers firing at the Evil and escaping, flying away from the collapsing ground and the dragon. Was a perfect ending to Repercussions, and couldn't have been done any better.
I have more favorite parts, but those were the main pointed ones I liked. Mostly all the parts with lots of fluid animations and action. I'm not kidding, everytime I watch Castle III through Repercussions, I forget I'm watching a flash video... that's how good the animation and art is.

ok, my favourite bits would be:
1: that bit off castle were etrius and a couple of evils are on that ladder on the helicopter and etrius grabs that flag and jabs it into the head of the evil, classic
2: in castle 3 c when your in the veiw of the evil running towards that soldier.
3:castle 3 d with all the soldiers running towards the helicopters with that kickass music.
and 4: castle rep d2 when the helicopters flying away and you see about 50 of those flying evils and that massive dragon/snake thing.
