In this RPG you will play either Irish or Italian mob affiliates, or a cop, during the early 1900's. We are dealing with a conflict of immense proportions in New York. The Irish and Italians are having large battles in the streets and are spreading blood through the town. The differant mob groups are: Irish:Seven Gang is sort of dignified, Winter Hill Gang is a bit less dignified, and the rabbit skins are complete savages that carry around dead rabbits on poles. Italian: Corleone family(i am serious, there real) Franchetti family, and Buscetta family all very dignified.
Character Sheet:
Name:
Race: (Italian or Irish)
Affliation: (mob or cop)
Appearence:
Weapons: (stay to the period, please)
Group: (cop. or, for Irish, the seven gang, the winter hill gang, both more dignified than the rabbit skins. Italian, Corleone, Franchetti, and Buscetta)
Bio:

Affiliation: mob
Appearence: short dark hair, pale skin, piercing green eyes, naturally distressed dark leather vest laced shut, white old fashioned shirt, period middle class shoes, plaid socks, black cloth breeches

Rabbit skins... Really? You know, there's a difference between being extreme and pretentious and preposterous.

I hate repeating myself... What's the plot? I ain't giving this the thumbs up until you get off your fat ass and give this story some direction.

You are in New York. You have migrated from Italy, or Ireland, and you are either a mobster or a cop. We have fights and do espionage missions. Now is there a thumbs up?

You need an overarching plot for the players to work through otherwise it is just a pointless, shapeless exercise in futility.

But RPG's shouldn't be like that. Missions are told to players as they progress through the story. If thats how it has to be, my game doesn't have a fully established plot. If what I said is not a plot, I don't know how to make one.

You have to do something that will catch the interest of players. If it's all just running around doing shit, people will sooner or later be bored of it. that's what everyone's being trying to tell you.
Gosh, even Andrehydra's RPG that featured giganitc armies just beating the snot out of eachother (a largescale clone of your RP) was beggining to have a general event stuff going on showing that things were happening before it died because the members weren't active enough.
You're giving us a sandbox, and you know children get bored of them someday.
I'd be happy to join if you sort these things out.

(Like what Killervirus said, the story's rather plain. We're just gonna buy weapons and kill each other with poor people in the crossfire; RIGHT in front of the police?
And what will happen after a certain mafia wins the game?)

(That was sort of fun. but to think what would happen if this turns out to be the same style of game play. Lets see we would have armys of coppers.
and some one would rush in with a knife and slit ever one of their arms and they would die. Ya basically we godmodd in it.but we did with style so it was okay.
wait i am thinking of some other RP. um i think it was call time crysis.)

This seems overly complex to me, Bloodshot; you'd need several threads to keep it organized. You'd need to keep track of a lot of statistics. I don't think it will work.
If you can get some eager members and prove me wrong, go ahead, but I'm eager to close this if it stagnates.
