I'd love to know the same thing! I'm pretty
sure you use masks to have the blood on the body and stuff, but I can't
animate blood spraying everywhere :(

The only way is lots of practice basically
Oscar has been animating for 3 years or so.

Oscar, didn't
Teh Alexandro guy make some toturial about how too make nice blood
effects???
DomH
December 5th, 2005, 09:40 PM
Yeah, he did.
Also, the reason why
Castle III has taken shorten than expected despite its overall length is
because Oscar double frames practically everything, which gives it a pretty
stylized feel, and twice less time to animte, since you only have to animate
ever second frame. If he single framed everything, it would take a lot
longer.

just practice my
friend. maybe if you practice long enough it'll even turn out better than
oscar's. just sayin, but its always that people have different opinions on
stuff..like blood. so, just go and give it a lot of tries until you find the
right way of doing it. if you like it, i'd just say practice using that
until you cant get any better with it. heh. well, dont stop using it but just
try to get better. good luck

Remember these pointers:
- Blood isn't standard red, it is also
transparent, on skin it is generally a dark redish/maroon like colour, try
something like "#660000". Work around something like that.
- Like
anything, it covers shade, reflects light. remember to put highlights
(whites) and shadows (blacks) on it. It will look more three-dimensional, and
have more life to it.
- Blood flows just like water, if you ever
wanted to know how it flows, go outside with some water and mess around.
*
by this I mean, get a (old plastic) cup, sit it on the ground (road if you
don't have a largish concrete/outdoor area), and kick the cup, near the
bottom. Mix with food dye, if you can't see it well.
Watch how the
water flows, and where it splatters, the patterns it makes, etc.
Now apply
those physics to blood.
- Blood won't flow out rapidly, its pumped by
the heart and therefore, it doesn't just go squirting out, unless you're
cut on the vein itself. Blood contains pressure, when a vein is cut, blood
pressure drops rapidly, and squirting distance gets lower
If
you need to know anymore about blood, ask me, I might draw up some stuff now
as examples, to show you.

That's some helpful tips, thanks mate. I think I know how to make blood
look, I just can't draw it, it's really annoying! But I'll keep practising
:)

I hate the stupid brush animations with sticks n'
bright red blood.
typicall, the stick appear with some incredibly
random badly made smoke, then b ball rolls in, he picks it up, it explodes
leaving ugly blood floating and slowly going into smaller brush sizes, then
it disappears.
then the huge ass 5 minute long credit for the 10 sec
animation, with a linkin park song. Usually with a noob name like
darkwolf64
Credits
Directed by: darkwolf64

Ok yea, back to the blood, try keeping it more
darkish read, not BRIGHT RED, and make one side contain shade, the other
light, and make it curve at the drops, to make it have a 3-D effect on the
viewer. Also use opacity when needed.

One this it is snowing here in the eastern states of
america, but anyawy, i tried the drawing it and stuff just like u said, but
cant. some example i will like, if u aint busy.
(i didnt really try
the red dye stuff, i tried water(plain and simple, on my bathroom counter, i
could draw it by hand, tried to draw it in flash but failed ,maybe the tablet
im getting soon will help(like oscar said it might on msn messenger), but
untill then i need to master the art of animating blood with the computer
mouse. i need examples.)

I forgot to mention the laws of
physics.
With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
When a bullet pushes into a "bag" of blood, or a 'guts' area in the body,
the blood pushes back out, thus giving the 'squirting' effect, in the
direction from where the bullet came.

Your in
Mexico and you speak English? Your rich, right?
And I've bled base
red before. It really depends on how thick your blood is going to be to
figure out how dark your gonna make it.
Netrosis
December 9th, 2005, 10:45 AM
Im not saying you have to go do all those things,
but If you've having trouble drawing it you should see firsthand how it
works, acts and know a little theory behind it, the better and more realistic
you draw blood, the better it looks.
I shall draw a REAL quickie.
