Time: Napoleonic Wars

Place: A Fictional Mediterranean Island Named : Archimedes Isle (Close to Gibraltar and Spanish Coast)

-RULES-

Alliances:
Allied Nations
Anglo-Dutch Archimedes Alliance

Nations and Reasons for Being:

Great Britain: Gibraltar has been under threat for a long time, and should another nation such as republican France or Spain get a hold of this island, it would severely compromise Gibraltar’s position guarding the entrance to the Mediterranean. The 2nd Squadron, Royal Navy are commanded by REAR ADMIRAL SIR DAVID ISAAC BELL-MARTINS.
The Royal Infantry Brigade is headed by MAJOR GENERAL ROLAND P DAMERSON
-MEMBERS-
Rear Admiral Isaac
Major General Damerson Laurence.
Pvt. Isaac Horribles
Stephen L Rodsworth
John and David Gibson

Napoleonic France: The island would give France a very convenient location from which to attack Gibraltar, and begin to rest power from the Royal Navy by controlling the vast majority of trade through the Mediterranean. The Leme Escadre de France are commanded by RP NAME HERE
-MEMBERS-

Royalist France: Being of small numbers in the eyes of the great European armies, a location such as this, so close to Spain and thus, France’s southern coast, would give them an edge and a place easy enough to control with their numbers, and last but not least, anything to impede Napoleon's plans is enough for them. The Legion de Lys are commanded by RP NAME HERE
-MEMBERS-

Spain: The island being so close to Spain’s coast would be a security risk should another nation get their hands on it. Britain already has Gibraltar, and another island in the hands of another power would be very daunting to Spain, being it a friend or foe. The Spanish Expedition Forces are commanded by RP NAME HERE
-MEMBERS-

Netherlands: The Dutch have been on the island longer than anyone. For the last 100 years, they have occupied a large trading port of great economic importance, but never bothered to fully colonize the island, and merely worried about their port. Now, with so many staking claim to the island, should Holland manage to take hold of the island, it could give them a strong position and standing among nations. The Dutch Garrison are commanded by Mr Gerrit van Berkel.
-MEMBERS-
Mr. Gerrit van Berkel
Mr Peter Posthuma

Prussia: Having had close ties to the Dutch, the Prussians set up their own trading port on the island close to 20 years ago, however, it served as Prussia’s main naval port in the Mediterranean shortly after, serving as a strong boost to Prussia’s navy. The Prussian Navy are commanded by RP NAME HERE
-MEMBERS-

United States: Being new to the international community, and indeed, to Europe, the United States views this island as a perfect opportunity to make it’s first real impact on Europe since the American Revolution. Should they rest control of the island, it would serve as the perfect trading point for the United States as well as a place of importance that would allow them to have a say in European affairs. The new Division of the Continental Navy, the Mediterranean Expedition Forces are commanded by RP NAME HERE
-MEMBERS-
Col.Christopher L. Wards

RPs and Features:
Each nation would have one commander, and that commander would have all power in his/her territory(but keep it realistic) and over members who have characters in their army/navy.
NOTE: All decisions are to be approved by me for realism

There will also be a neutral location and city, where people can meet. Allies may RP with each other casually, but enemies cannot, unless in the neutral city. Nation starting armies, navies and territory will depend on the nation’s status in this time period. For example, Britain and Spain would have greater territory, were the Dutch and royalist French would have quite small starting points.

-RP types-

Firstly, standard RPs, in which anything can happen within reason such as character development and the like.

The second will be missions, during which, an officer or officers would accept a mission from a list, and RP it out, though with changing circumstances played out by Mission Moderators, who would decide what would happen in reflection to the actions described by the officers playing out the mission. This would basically be things such as intelligence and battles, but from the point of view of the people playing them out, not on a battle map.

A feature would be the strategic battle. Every general would be able to initiate a battle, but only one at a time, and only the commanders of the armies/navies would be able to participate, similar to the ones that have been done before. Depending on the outcome of the battle decided by a GM based on the tactical movements and actions, the territory would either remain as part of the attacked nation, or would be annexed by the attacking nation, which would be changed on the island map.

Another feature is called the Chapter Feature which players who are involved have to can play their story uninterrupted and can end if they want to. This sort of makes the thread your boredom-retreat and makes it less dead.

(Good news, we can start. Though, I still have to ask SOME people to complete and edit their character sheets.)

It was a cool afternoon with the sun still shining on a busy Port Arthur. The streets were filled with the usually merry-people of the port. Rich, middle and even slaves alike are all happy with the port. On a hilltop, overlooking the rest of the Naval Port, the British Admiralty stood proud in the sun with it's flag at half-mast. The Admiralty was a heavily-fortified stronghold which is notable through it's rosy-bricked structures and it's silvery-gray stonewalls which protected the Admiralty with it's cannons who's crew said they could fire 2 cannonballs in 1 minute.

A figure stood out on it's pearly balcony. The figure was a dark-haired man who was 6'3 in height wearing a navy-blue coat with gold linen and buttons. His coat was buttoned down but just below the collar with which revealed a clean, white shirt inside of the coat. His pants were white, complemented with black boots which covered the entire ankle.
A fine wind gusted upon the White Balcony. The man felt the cold wind touch his face. He closed his eyes. The shaking of the trees echoed throughout his mind.

"KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!"

Obviously, the navy-blue coated man's tranquility was broken by the knocks. The dark-coated figure opened his eyes to look back, only to hear another group of knocks. He left the White Balcony and walked to his desk.

"You may enter." the dark coated man said, this time, holding up a Rear-Admiral's hat from his desk and placing it on his crown.
(This is where you come in, Hunter.)

Roland stepped into the room. He was wearing his red officer's uniform, with the decorations and medals from his years of service. His insignia identified him as a Major General, but he also wore another that looked like two rifles crossed. His officers sword rested by his hip and his rifle was within hand's reach. His outfit wasn't as clean as the Rear-Admiral's, since he had finished a field test with his team only several hours before midnight.

His face was worn and rough, he had a scar across his nose, whice seemed crooked from some past blow. His eyes were a dark blue, hard and icy. He walked in and closed the door behind him. He inspected the well laid room with various charts on the walls. He looked across the cleanly laid desk, spotting paper and ink neatly placed off on the side.

The Rear-Admiral was studying him, just like he was studying the Rear-Admiral. Both watched each other silently as the minutes passed. Roland snapped out of his pride and resumed formalities. "Major General Roland D. Laurence, main strategist for all land based movements. I appologise for my appearence, for I have only finished my squads preperations before dawn. I was told that you were the one to see."

Christopher waited in his dark quarters reading by candle light, when a soldier in blue burst opened the door illuminating the room. Chris looked up from his book, clearly disturbed. Squinting as he stared into the blinding sunlight he asked "Why have you come here?"

"The other commanders sent me to deliver a message to you, sir." The soldier replied.

"Let me see it." The Colonel said as he extended his hand to retrieve the letter. the soldier placed it in his hand and stood for a few seconds. The colonel looked up again "Is that all?" he said.

"Umm yes sir."

"Alright well you are dismissed then."

The soldier exited closing the door behind him. Christopher reached across his desk and grabbed a letter opener he slid it under the wax seal and unfolded the letter. Taking only 20 seconds to read it over he stood, put out the burning candle, and walked over to where his coat was hanging and put it on and with that he exited the dark room.

Roland gave no indication of the rank difference. "Please, don't worry of such things... We are both capable men in our own fields. Although I have had a few strategies for naval battle, I would rather keep my feet on the ground where I dont have to worry even more about my location." He looked over the Rear-Admiral, seeing what his reaction would be. "Before you speak know this.... I was sent here, not only to help take over this island, but to bring a... new form of fighting to the battlefields. While the Royal Infantry looks to me as the turning point, I look to others to keep a clear head. So if we talk alone, lets skip the formalities of rank, I don't need another officer jumping every time i try to hold a conversation.... Is that clear?"

Whhile sitting at his desk, writing his report from the past week, Sir Gerrit van Berkel heard loud yelling outside. Not angered or scared yelling, but happy yelling. It was the two hours of rest for the men, so all of them were there, except for the guards of course. He got up from his desk and walked up to his window. He looked outside and saw a soldier carrying a note in his right hand and a pidgeon in his left. So, the answer of his last report had come already. Those pidgeons are getting faster and faster.

He turned, opened the door and said to the guards: 'Let the man in'. Not a minute later he heard knocking. 'Come on in', Gerrit said. 'Private Van der Beek, reporting sir!', he yelled whilst holding his hand above his head, but smiling at the same time. Gerrit looked at him from some time, but then removed his right hand from his back and slowly moved it to above his head. He moved his hand down fast and firm and the other Soldier finished his salute. 'I see you have great news?', Gerrit asked. 'Sir, yes sir!', the soldier answered. They looked at eachother and Gerrit started to smile. 'Well, what is it?', he asked. 'They're sending back-up, sir! The Navies are on their way, sir!', the soldier replied.

Gerrit was shocked. This was way faster then expected. What should he do? 'Sit', Gerrit said, while pointing at a very comfortable looking chair. The soldier handed him the note and sat down, enjoying the comfort. 'Did the guards take the bird?', he asked and soldier replied with a nod. 'Good', Gerrit mumbered and sat behind his desk. 'I'll finish this report and add an extra note. What was your name again?', he asked and the soldier replied with 'Private Dirk van der Beek, sir!', while saluting again. He quickly finished everything and stood up from his desk. He rolled up the pieces of parchment and handed them to the soldier who stood up again, out of respect. Tie them to the bird and send them to the King', Gerrit said and the soldier nodded and walked out of the room and closed the doors behind him.

'This is going to be great', Gerrit said.

"Yes, sir" the rear-admiral replied and gave a little laugh to the irony Major General Roland gave "if I may, sir, let me introduce myself. My name is Sir Isaac Bell-Martins. I am in charge of the Second and Flag fleet here on Archimedes Isle. And, I have to admit. It's been quite a bore here on Isle and the men have been looking forward for a little action lately. I can't even believe they have not mutinied and started advancing without my command.

Indeed, the Order of the British Empire is beginning to think that peace in this serene island is fragile. People are starting to move inland to colonize. Word has even spread that the Dutch and Prussians are bulking up in a war-like stance. We also have been having problems with the French. The Napoleonic kind. And the Spanish are the most aggressive colonizers in the isle! Our efforts to keep war outside of the isle from the European mainland is breaking down like Chinese porcelain, exposed to the elements."

Isaac sighed at the burden placed upon the British presence in Archimedes. When, he came back to reality, he then gave a curious look at the Major General.

"Say... General. Are you the reason why they sent you here?" Isaac raised his left eyebrow

It has only been 2 or 3 hours ago since Gerrit heard the news. After he heard it and sent his new report along with another private message regarding Van der Beek, he sent men to the guard camps for early shifts and extra reports. The camps were Oost, Noord, West and Zuid, to the four directions of the wind, as they were placed East, North, West and South from Berkelfort.
North and West were alerted for own ships, while East and South should standby for invasions any time.

If the fleet arrives, the Island will be Dutch.

"The meeting of commanders is over you're too late. Here are your orders based on the decision of High command." The soldier replied.

"Alright thank you." Chris said with a sigh of displeasure.

Roland looked around the room again before answering. "Partly yes... I just help secure a small foothold between the Prussian-French border. I saw that this island was a point of intrest for many factions and saw the tactical advantage myself. I examined charts and maps of the island's terrain before landing here. Gaining permission wasn't too difficult," at this Roland gave a slight shrug. "But when I landed with my men, I decieded to train my men for a few days and adjust to the land."

"Sir Issac Bell-Martins is it? I've read great reports about you, some even from my brother, Vice Admiral Henrey Laurence, before he stopped writing. He spoke about seeing you be promoted... General Admiral Posthuma came out of his cabin to welcome the warm sun, who shined it's hot rays of light on the deck of the 'Zilveren Hengst'. 'Sir, good day, sir', said a Private, saluting Sir Posthuma. 'At ease, men', he said quickly to all the others who were going to salute. 'We need your hands busy with the ship, not the salute. If the winds bless us today, we might get there half a day earlier. Now, go on!'. 'Sir, tes sir', was the reply he got and everyone got to work.

"Oh dear..." Isaac felt pity for the man since he never knew of what had happened to his own brother "I'm sorry to tell you this, sir, but... Your brother's ship. HMS Formidable was attacked by the Napoleonic French before the Powers agreed to keep war outside of Archimedes. Thankfully, it wasn't sunk. At that time, British territory was much too small than it was now and your brother's duty were to increase territorial foothold on the island. He did so well, when you look at the map of the island. We would never have gotten here without him..." Isaac smiled, trying to recall the memories with him and the Vice-Admiral together. A small tear came out of his right eye. Isaac reached for his handkerchief in his pocket and gently wiped it off "I was there... I was just a Commodore at that time... It was foolish of me to order my ship to charge forward and break their lines... I left an opening for the French who assaulted your brother from the port side deck... I recall a midshipman after the battle who told me of what had... Happened... He blamed me for this... And... He was right. I'm... Sorry... We did eliminate a potential French threat but everyone in that squadron agreed it wasn't worth it..."

More tears came out from both Isaac's eyes. He then wiped them with his handkerchief again.

"Your brother was a great man. The sign of him there in the battlefield was able to bring out the best of us in any situation... He had the Nelson Touch..." Isaac laughed a bit while tears still came out from his eyes "And... His death did a similar effect... His death, affected us to avenge him and continue fighting for his name's sake..."

Isaac closed his eyes mentally praying for the Vice-Admiral's soul.

A single tear fell from his left eye and landed on the floor between his feet. "...He went out like my other brother... with his men fighting to no end... a soldier's death." Roland remained as he was for half a second before reverting back to the present.

"What's done is done. I don't hold you responsible for what had happened... He... always spoke of dieing in the fray, insiring his men to push onwards... I hope that I can get this chance as well. Now.. to more important matters... What is it that has happened so far? What men do we have stationed and how many field guns and howiters do we have on ground? I need to see 50 of your finest soldiers for a... special training session."

Roland had stood up and began to pace about the room. He halted, mid-stride, and waited for the Rear-Admiral's responce.

(Hey I just found out I may have appendicitice so I may not be on for a while... you can control my character till I get back.)

(You are clearly trying to control the RP by adding more officers to the Dutch Garrison.)

(You just said in your previous post it was accepted, right?)

(Uh, whoops. I had 2 mistakes on that one. First, I had thought that was SOME OTHER guy and secondly, I realized it was the same but different spelling on the last name but I accidentally left that in.)

Isaac opened his eyes, wiping away his last tear

"Y-yes, sir" Martins was still shaken by the memories "We approximately have 7000 Regulars with 1000 sailors, 100 mobile artillery(30 of them howitzers) and 40 ships. All within the limits of the agreement between the powers."

Isaac began to have a bit more self-esteem this time as there was no more water in his eyes.

"And yes, I will give you the finest Marines of the Flag fleet."

Major General Roland spoke with disgust "Marines you say? No Coldstream Guards? No Redcoats?!"

"Sir, placing Redcoats and Coldstream Guards here would be folly and reverse our efforts of peace in the isle. They are intimidating."

"And of the Dutch? I heard you mentioning they are bulking up." Roland said with a voice of great wisdom "Haven't THEY been bulking up beyond the limits agreed by the Powers?"

Isaac couldn't speak. The Dutch had been bulking up on a warlike stance. How could he have not noticed! The Dutch were clearly in violation of the agreement and no one else has accused them yet. Then, he remembered it was just a rumor.

"I beg your pardon, sir," Isaac said with a little doubt in his voice "but the Dutch bulking is just a rumor. It hasn't been confirmed yet."

(stable for now...)

Roland looked out the window behind Isaac. "So you only have marines for me?" He rubbed his chin and drummed his fingers on the desk. "Make it 200 soldiers and have them meet me and my men by one of the training grounds.... Learn this quickly, I strongly dislike rumors on anything. Have all other officers, Leuteneants, Colonels, Sargents... have them form their squads and platoons and meet me there for a .... demonstration. I feel I have less time to intruduce a new form of fighting to our men then origonally projected."

Roland was now walking across the room and looking at a chart of the island. "Tell me.... where exactlly do you patrol the waters and how many ships patrol together? I think we need to do some investigation...."

Isaac walked to the chart which covered the entire left wall of the office. He pointed to the top-most British territory.

"We only patrol here..." Isaac's finger moved downward to the lowest of the British territory "Up till here, sir. We agreed of not spying on each other."

Isaac then faced Roland.

"That is all, sir."

Roland then questioned the young admiral with his left eyebrow raised "Then how can you be sure that there is a balance..?"

"There is a group of privateers here." Isaac pointed to the route which ships take "They are enlisted of preventing extra reinforcements and reporting of a violation."

"Boy, we have more things to worry about than the French and it seems that the Dutch are currently the most dangerous in the isle."

"Are you suggesting that we expand our patrol?"

"Aye, admiral"

Isaac couldn't fight him. He had higher authority. He then changed subjects about his demands.

"Sir, I will get to it that the men are assembled and ready by noon."

DAY 1 FINISHED

(I'll assume its noon.)

Roland stood infront of his remaining four men, the best of those wo had served him. He thought to all the others... who either died or were reassigned to lead or follow others in the war against Napoleon... These four were the ones he chose to come with him to Archimedes, to be his second in commands under his orders and to lead the troops.

There was Stephen L Rodsworth, from a family a blacksmiths, who had run away at age 17 and fallen into his ranks during one of his many battles. Stephen was good at hidding and tracking, and was Roland's forward scout. Next was John and David Gibson, two brothers who looked almost identical. John was an excelent shot, but David was faster at reloading the rifles and had a better eye for far away targets. When they worked together, they could take out many enemies and move before they knew what hit them. The final member of the group was Roland's favorite, although he never said it out loud.

Patrick Jordan Lovett, age 25, is the best marksman, disincluding Roland himself, out of all four. He had been with Roland since his reassignment to his special position, and he was also showing signs of Roland's tactical skill and analysis... every plan Roland made was also checked by Partick. He would be key in the coming battles on Archimedes and that is why Roland convinced the higher-ups to let him stay, rather then start training the next group of candidates.

Roland scanned the audience of 200 marines, each waiting for him to speak, nervous, unsure of what he called them for. Some began to shift on their feet, trying to remain focused and not lose attention. Behind them was a couple officers and their men, also waiting for him to start. Off to the far right-hand side, Isaac sat watching, on Roland's invitation, to see what this demonstration was about.

Each man, including Roland, had a Brown Bess Rifle over their backs, but at ready for quick use. A small breeze blew over the training grounds, cool with the faint sting of the sea brushing everyone's skin. Roland remained dressed in his officer's uniform, to stand out and show everyone who was now deciding their actions. His men, however, were dressed in, what appeared to be, torn and drab clothes, brown and dirty with patches of grass stains or bits of leaves and park stuck to the fabric... just faintly visible under this ratty outfit was the red outfits that market them as Redcoats.

Roland waited for a few minutes more... waited until curiosity had broke through and unease settled deep into their heads, Isaac remained curious and unsure, watching to see what Roland had instore.

"Marksmen! Stand ready!" Roland's barking command made everyone, except the four, jump and come to attention. Roland scanned the 200 marines' faces, "I... am Major General Roaland Damerson Laurence, and you have been selected to be in my command. All non-naval forces will report to me and my men... and for those of you," He waved an arm indicating the 200 marines, "Standing before everyone... you will be directly under the command in one of my men's squads."

"Marksmen! You have been tracking Napoleon's forces for a week and patrols have been sent out around their campsite! You are ordered to go out and eliminate those patrols.... from as far away as possible..." The Marines and officers gasped, some shrugged and shook their heads, "Do you doubt my skill!" Roland's challenge made all officers and soldiers bolt still and watch with fearful eyes. Behind his the four scattered to various hills.

Down range, further outside any normal soldier's aim, were 21 targets. The 21st was much closer then the other 20 but still much further then anyone dared to ty and shoot. Roland turned and drew his rifle and loaded it with one shot. He dropped to one knee and took aim. In his head he fell into the routine he beat into himself for such a task... Everything around him slowed, and he closed out all voices and noise.

He heard his steady breaths and felt his heart beats lightly shake his body. He leaned forwards and shouldered the rifle and closed his left eye. The dragging seconds counting in his head as his finger tensed over the trigger. He pulled the trigger and the shot echoed over the silent field.

Roland closed both eyes and waited... waited until the short gasps of shock began to ripple through the men... then he knew, he hit the target. He opened both eyes, stood strait and shouldered the rifle, then turned to face the men.

"I am Major General Roland Damerson Laurence, Brown Bess Rifle expert marksman. I have come to Archimedes to speed up the capture of the island, so it stands proudly under the control of Britan's own forces... 200 of you have been chosen as the best shots on this island... and you are now under my contol..."

Behind him each target was slowly being picked off by the four, from ranges almost as far away as Roland's, "....Failure is not an option.... But as my tactical analysis concludes... our numbers may vary in size... but Britan has always had soldiers of a higher skill. Who agrees with me!" Roland raised his arms into the air and the men began to sheer, shaking off what little shock or amazment once held them silent.

Roland turned in the direction of where Isaac stood, and he walked over to him. "Vice-Admiral, what do you think?" He held up a hand before Isaac could speak, "Lets discuss this somewhere where spies and other suspicious ears cannot hear of our dealings... My chambers perhaps? My Second-in-Command will join us there and you can ask both of us anything you wish. But first..."

Roland turned back to the marines and officers, "The demonstration is over! If you are in my command, go back to your stations and gather your gear... tomorrow you will begin training. All officers... you and your men ar dismissed!" He turned back to Isaac, "Now to begin the real plans and tactics during the night."

As Roland and Isaac walked off, the four were finishing picking off the remaining targets, Patrick had finished hitting his 5 and headed back to the port, to clean up for tonight's meeting.

(Roland is a little head strong, but if anyone was as successful or talented as him, who wouldn't be?)

Isaac walked with Roland while half-amazed and half-doubt on the Major due to his unusual performance. He was amazed that he spoke like an American on the soldiers which intimidated them.

"Sir," Isaac began "I was surprised by how the way you treated those marines! You put a scenario in their leathered-heads of what an American officer would do if they would ever defeat England again! Indeed, I found it humorous as an officer not having to face a superior's barkings."

Roland grunted, "The Americans.... They may be a little over confident after their luck at gaining independence... But... their strategy during the winter and fighting while our troops advanced was... genius. They wore dirty clothes that blended in with the forrests and the hills, while we walked around in bright red uniforms that could been seen from miles away..."

Roland paused and looked up at the sky, as a large cloud drifted across the sun. Isaac stopped and waited. "My special insignia..." he pointed at the one with the two rifles crossed, "You've never asked me what it means... I wondered if it was a respect of rank or you just aren't that curious. I will tell you... When we get back to my rooms, I will tell you everything you need to know..."

Roland walked off again, and Isaac stood. He looked at the sky, then back to Roland before starting off after him. Something was going to happen soon... but what exactly... he didn't know.

RMERRITT
October 29th, 2008, 12:57 AM
Chris stepped off of the transport boat which he'd been on for the better part of the morning, he stood on the wooden docks of new boston and looked forward to his soldiers. "Men Supplies are still arriving from Fort Ticonderoga so we have time to spare, so you may gather yourselves, go to the local markets buy what food and drink you need and report back to me."

"Yes sir."

Once the soldiers were gone Chris went to one of the nearby markets he stepped inside and there stood the grocer behind the counter waiting for his next customer. Chris walked in and looked over the items for sale he grabbed a head of lettuce three loafs of bread and placed them on the counter. Chris asked the shopkeeper to show him the selections of beef that were for sale. The man stepped into the back room for a minute and returned with 10 pounds of beef on a tray. "Ill take it." Chris said. The shopkeep grabbed a piece of paper and wrapped the beef in 20, 1/2 pound pieces and loaded them into a sack along with the lettuce and the bread. "How much?" chris said.

"4 dollars" said the shopkeeper. (I dont know what currency they used back then so i just said dollars correct me if i am wrong.)

"Done." Chris said as he pulled 2, 2 dollar coins from the pocket of his coat.

The shopkeep took the money and pushed the bag toward Chris, he grabbed the sack slung it over his shoulder and left to return to the ships.

(Good news, we're going to have a modified map soon. Also, RMERRIT, $12 was pretty expensive back then)

Rear-Admiral Sir Martins, Knight of the Order of the British Empire and currently 1st-in-command of the British colony in Archimedes Isle. The man administered Archimedes as its Governor for 5 years now. Then came Roland Damerson, who's rank, Major General, is considered higher than Sir Isaac's. Sir Isaac doesn't fear or mind Roland having the administration authority on the isle. With all the tension and problems, Sir Isaac would be relieved to just do more simpler things. Like fighting a battle.

2 hours had passed since Damerson had given his demonstration to the marines and Sir Isaac had seperated from the Major due to important paperwork.

It was a partly cloudy afternoon and Isaac, in his usual attire, walked to a certain Major General's lodgings.

He approached the door and knocked on it 3 times.

Roland heard the knocking, 1 room away. The Major had been resting at his(not surprisingly) comfortable chair, near a window with good ventilation. The lodging of the Major had always been reserved for high officers and the envy of the soldiers who sleep on barely comfortable beds.

Major General Roland Damerson opened his eyes with a stressed look on his face.

"Err..." Roland struggled to escape the grasp comfort "Bloody hell... What is this all about now..?"

With a burst of effort, Roland stood up from his chair and approached the door. The Major straightened his back and opened. He was surprised to see the young Admiral on his doorstep.

"Afternoon, sir." Isaac took his hat from his head and bowed
"Ah," Roland gave a happy look as if he was expecting the Admiral "afternoon there, Admiral! Shouldn't you be running a navy here?"

"Of course, sir," Isaac was a bit embarrassed "I came here upon your request."

Roland forgot. He invited the Admiral to tell him about his insignia.

"Oh," Roland was now embarrassed "I apologize, sir! Getting old, ye know?"

Isaac laughed

"Come in, come in!" Roland invited the young Admiral inside.

Isaac was guided into the living room. It was much luxurious for an officer's lodging. He didn't realize this because he's never been in one. Only in his ship or the Admiralty. The ceiling was amazing. Paintings of a vision of the Gates of Heaven with St.Peter keeping the gates. There were 3 shelves on a finely carved, single bookshelf. All containing books from a Bible to Nostradamus. In Alphabetical order.

The walls were covered in mild-orange and patterned with gold stripes. The floor was shiny, as if it was waxed all the time. There was a lamp, next to a couch, on its sides were 2 more comfy chairs. The couch and chair surrounded a table, Isaac sat in the right chair. It was all simply too much for Isaac.

Roland came back with a tray of pipping hot water with teabags, a cup of sugar-cubes, milk and lemon choices and biscuits imported from Denmark.

"Well Admiral," Roland placed the tray on the table "would you like to hear of the history and the story of this insignia?"

"Yes, please" Isaac was excited. He dump his teabag into the hot water and added milk "tell me. I've never heard of anything about that insignia."

Isaac then added 2 cubes of sugar into the tea. He stirred it.

"Well, son" Roland began "if you really want to know..."
(It's your organization, HK, you make it happen.)
