I've seen it with my one eye, I

say.
But i don't remember how lol ><

The way I'd do it is:

1. Copy my stick onto another

layer above.
2. Use the ink tool to ink it in my chosen colour
3. Draw

lines through where I want the shine to stop.
4. Delete the stick.

He

re is a sexy example of it, down the side of the guy who's shooting there's

that white reflection, that's what I'm asking about :D

Oscar
December 5th, 2005, 04:21 PM
That's pretty easy.

Make the stick inside of a graphic symbol. Go to main stage and drag

it out from the library. Copy it (CTRL+C) then create a new layer under the

stick. Paste it on the same spot (CTRL+SHIT+V). Select the new stick symbol

only and set tint to white or whatever color you want. Move the white stick

symbol a bit with the arrow tools. Yay you're done

Oscar
December 7th, 2005, 08:15 PM
Just do

a circle with the line tool and drag it over the headfill. Then fill one of

the parts of the head brighter. Delete the line and kabom you're finished!

that you exactly copied him?

JJ
December 11th, 2005, 12:00 AM
how

JJ
December 11th, 2005, 12:21 AM
well

if it is that u think i am copying hm, that actually cant be true really. i

asked for help, he gave. i msn, messenger him like all the time for help, i

just put it all together to one image. He told me the basics mainly. but

anyway even if does look like a copied, it doesnt mean at all that i can

animate like him...trust me i suck REALLY BAD when i try my hardest to

animate something like his.

Dont double post or

post 1 word.

And:

Yo

u should develop your own style, thats all we're saying.

JJ
December 11th, 2005, 01:18 AM
THat looks way cooler than your current

signature. You should use it instead.

Where'd you get the 3D

pistol by the way?>?

I think I shoulda change it, i agree.

I made the pistol, actually Socom. I got a image off google

<3...imported it to flash, only the side view, and brought it to

flash.....huff this heres a like to how i made it.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/278547

then i did some

crap to get it into flash, like still images, to use on that pic i made, and

waaaaa-laaaaa

also that tutorial on how i made it can also be

found on my deviant art site. (link in my sig)

and kudos to oscar

again, cuz he taught me how to do make 3d guns first, and i just added more

of waht he told me into a tutorial.

its amazing how u can make some awsome

effects with some simple stuff lol

JJ
December 11th, 2005, 09:14 PM
u did

ungroup the objects right, then u click one the ungrouped objects and on the

left side there should be something that says....god....okay, click one of

the objects and take a screen shot for me please, just click a object and

screen shot, full screen, then i can show u waht to do most likely

JJ
December 11th, 2005, 09:20 PM
also

there are tools above the workspace, different shapes and stuff

Wow, a topic about a shine effect has

turned into a topic about 3d guns... :?

JJ
December 12th, 2005, 07:40 PM
Alright

thanks. Heres what it looks like right after I ungrouped and clicked the

barrel.

http://img400.imageshack.us/img400//delete7fk.jpg

^Full

screenshot.

http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/2825/untit

led7gx.jpg

My Swift version is basically the same....Okay now u

want to DELETE IT! (after u clicked the ungrouped object, delete

it.)

Then as the pic shown above, see where i point the arrow, put

that on the stage. this cylinder will act as your barrel. Resize it with the

X,Y,Z scales to your liking, and rotate it to the proper position on the the

gun. then re-group the objects so it stays in place. and there you go.

JJ
December 16th, 2005, 08:17 PM
did that help WarLud or did u

excommunicate urself from this thread

Blackwater
December 16th, 2005, 08:29 PM
Why don't you just model your guns in

Swift?

And don't use the cylinder tool for barrels, use the lathe

editor.

JJ
December 16th, 2005, 10:14 PM
did that help WarLud or did u

excommunicate urself from this thread
lol....nah, iv been at my

dads house..no swift 3d or stuff.....

I just tryed it. So is there no

easier way? I guess thats why it takes so long to make 3D

weapons.

Thanks anyway! Now if I have loads of spare time i can make

3D weapons! :D

the lathe editor, or the othre editor(one of

them), u can design the whole gun there but i prefer the way i do it, it gets

easier as u get used to it. after i draw a gun , i can get it finshed in

minutes. Plus one other way to reloacte that barrel to the area in which u

want more effiently, and smoothly, is click the area in whch u want to

replace, then select position in the left side menu thing, and copy the six

things (X,Y,Z,Blah1, Blah2, and Blah3) then delete the "square barrel, and

turn the cylinder the way the gun is shown (rotate it and junk ) then select

"position" (left side menu of the selected cylinder) adn paste the same

numbers in as the old square barrel was. Re-adjust the scale of the barrel if

u have to, and most likely the barrel will be in the correct postion, so no

need to rotate it again.

ramsy66
December 16th, 2005, 10:17 PM
ok... this is weird, this "shine effect" help topic has turned into a 3d gun

topic... could an admin please lock this thread or change the title lol it's

kinda weird

JJ

its kinda confusing using the lathe editor, it gets

hard to use, plus it is easier this way that i use. (and oscar told me this

way :) ) ya u dont use cylinder for barrels, true, but as i said its

confuzing in the lathe editor.

im guessing u have swift experience. u

can find it easy but, no one is going to be a picky bastard in animations

with 3d weapons if the barrel looks un realistic.

if u have swift

experience. i would like to see wat came to your swift making gun thing.

ya honestly, we know

all of a sudden it turned from a shine effect to a gun 3d topic, dont worry

to guns shine in fame, u need the SHINE EFFECT THREAD

Jaded
February 3rd, 2006, 09:24 PM
YO THAT METHOD OF SHINE IS SHAT~@$ if ur using

flash professional 8, all you have to do is add a bevel filter and adjust

the settings according to the light angle and VAULA, thats certainly the way

oscar does it, that copy method would take SOOOOOOOOO long. HOPE THIS

HELPS.

p.s. lol this post is actually what made me go and figure out

the whole filter concept. :) :D
