look around and ask people for help on ANTICIPATION!
It is one of the most important things in animation...here ill just tell
you
Ok...when you jump, you dont just move in a fluid
motion up then down, you bend you legs fast, and slow down bit by bit as you
get to the bottom of your bend, then you stay there for a second while energy
accumulates in your legs, so that you can just explode upwards into the
air!
The same concept goes for animation. The sticks will
follow the same basic pattern of movement as they go through their movements
and stuff like that

Post some of your latest and best work, and details
like dimensions, FPS, etc.
Once I review it I can hopefully pinpoint
things you may have overlooked. Alot of people use static tweening when
easing gives a better effect, same goes for FBF. But yes, practice makes
perfect. Download videos of people running, jumping doing whatever, and then
rotoscope it stickstyle and then see how it may be improved.
