Sure. Is the sky painted or grabbed from a photo?
Also, if you have the right possibilities, try to use cool rendering programs like LuxRender

I was staring at the picture and just swearing between murmured "not possible","this just can't","no way"s for a good minute. This picture nearly made me cry although manmade structures never had that effect on me... I'm happy the first time was here, on DQ.
Your pictures show the world in a different way and I love how they show it.

Oscar, you're amasing. Everyone who is aware of you should be proud of you.
... Or at least (they should) be proud of your drawing skills.
How long did this take?

P.S.: I love you. (in a manly way xD)

That's heartwarming, thanks :) It took me maybe 16 hours + rendertime and post production.

It's a texture/photo.
LuxRender? I haven't heard of it. Beats mentalray? Talking of render engines, I'm curious of vRay.

HOLY SH- This is one of the most realistic paintings/drawings/whatever I've ever seen!!!
Too bad I'm more of the jealous than proud type.

Very good work is not a positive enough expression to describe this... uh, picture you took made.

It needs more lens flare :P

It looks really nice, very refined. Not totally realistic, but good enough.
The tarmac is a bit too shiny, as is the plane, but that's just me.

@Oscar: This is an unbiased renderer, which means it will count the lights reflections for eternity. You can stop it anywhere though.
Comparing to mentalray, it can be held against it's "iray" pretty well.

The two things in 3D max or for that matter any kind of 3D work that is very hard to get right is lighting and texture.

Two ticks from me goes to those categories.

PS: Pssst, Oscar, if you're interested in using 3D, you have to try Houdini.

PPS: (whistles away)

It is so realistic. It is EPIC. Keep it up, Oscar. :D
By the way, is it just me, or is the runway weird?
And where are the blinking lights? D:

Now that is one nice-looking plane, but, err... is the engines suposed to be so near each other? anyways, the pecturequality is far to good too waste time on tiny details like that ;D
(by the way... ever considered moddeling for flight simulator X or something, Oscar?)
